Vladimir Putin “laughs” We have to click to stop the shooting Ukraine
The senior diplomats Kaja Calas in the European Union said on Friday that Russian President Vladimir Putin “laughs” on President Trump’s efforts to mediate a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
Class, head of the European Union’s foreign policy, said that pushing the president to end the conflict in Eastern Europe is “welcome”, but the Russian leader is less likely to reach the negotiating table because he “achieved what he wanted” during the summit of last week in Alaska with US officials.
“Putin is just laughing, and he does not stop killing, but it increases the killing,” Callas said during her meeting on the BBC Radio.
Class said that it is “clear” that the Kremlin does not want to reach a peace deal, adding that “any promises have been made by Putin so far, has not remained.”
Trump met Putin last week in Ankarag, Alaska, where the two delegations discussed a possible peace agreement to end the war of Russia, which has been raging since February 2022.
Earlier this week, Trump met with Ukrainian President Voludmir Zelinsky and seven European leaders at the White House. Trump also called Putin on Monday, in an attempt to push peace and pressure talks for a bilateral meeting between the Russian leader and the President of Ukraine.
Moscow is not ready to agree to a gathering between Putin and Zelinski, according to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
“Putin is ready to meet Zelensky when the agenda is ready for a summit, and this agenda is not ready at all,” said senior Russian diplomats to NBC news.
Russia has demanded not to allow Ukraine to join NATO and that Kiev waives some of the lands that the Kremlin Army invaded as part of any peace agreement. Ukraine has rejected both demands, as Zelensky, who needs Kyiv, insists on security guarantees that would prevent another incursion from Moscow.
Lavrov previously asked about the legitimacy of Zelinski and called for the inclusion of security guarantees as part of a possible “hopeless” peace agreement.
Zelensky met with NATO Secretary -General Mark Retty on Friday. They discussed “What are our next joint steps that can provide Ukraine and Europe all greater security and bring the true end of the war.”
Class claimed on Friday that it was “clear before the meeting [Putin] He wants the picture, but he got much more. He got such a welcome in America. “
