Trump tells us, India continues to negotiate the commercial deal
President Trump said that the United States and India will continue to negotiate the conditions of their trade agreement, less than two weeks after the US President slapped a new round of definitions on India to buy Russian oil.
In a post on the social truth on Tuesday, Trump called Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, “his very intimate friend” and said they would speak in the coming weeks.
“I am pleased to announce that India and the United States of America are continuing negotiations to address the commercial barriers between our country. I look forward to talking to my dear friend, Prime Minister Modi, in the coming weeks,” Trump wrote in his social position.
“I feel that there will be no difficulty in reaching a successful result for both our great countries!”
This statement represents a shift in the tone of the US President, who only said last week, India offered to reduce customs tariff prices on US imports to scratch, but added, “She was late. They should have done it years ago.”
Trump added at the end of last month a 25 percent tariff for Indian goods as a punishment for buying Russian oil, which India defended as financially necessary to meet the energy needs in its acquired country. This raised the total tariff rate to 50 percent, as India has already faced a 25 percent “mutual” tariff.
Some analysts said that Trump’s sharp definitions and his rebellious position towards Modi unintentionally led India to search for closer relations with Russia and China. Moody met early last week with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
At the end of last week, Trump said in a position of social media, “We have lost India and Russia to the deepest and darkening of China.” However, he fell later when asked if he thought he was “lost India”, and he told a reporter, “I don’t think we have.”
“I will always do. I will always be a friend of Moody. He is a great prime minister. I will always be friends, but I don’t like what he is doing at this particular moment,” Trump said at the White House late last week.
“But India and the United States have a very special relationship,” Trump added. “There is nothing to worry. We have moments at times,” Trump added.
Moody responded to the statement on Saturday, saying that he was deeply depth and protruding Trump, “Trump’s feelings and positive evaluation of our relationships.”
