Trump strikes Jerome Powell on interest rates: “Like talking to the wall”
President Trump connected the Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell on Thursday to not listen to his payment to reduce interest rates, after the central bank again chose to maintain interest rates this week.
Trump was asked about Powell after he told the Federal Reserve Chairman one day of the reporters that he had not asked for a meeting with the president and he “would not.”
When asked if he was planning to try to meet Powell, Trump replied, “It is like speaking to the wall.”
This laughed at the Minister of Commerce, Howard Lottenic and Vice President Vance, who led to Trump in the Oval Office after a announcement on a trade agreement with the United Kingdom.
