The launch of Swissport and Aurrigo is the first global pilot for independent ground handling solutions at Zurich Airport
Swissport has partnered with the UK -based AURRIGO International PLC to make its first international pilot ever of independent ground handling technologies at Zurich Airport, which represents an important step in the Swissport road map. The initiative includes the publication of a digital simulation platform and a vivid experience of a completely independent electric car designed to explore new logistical competencies.

Swissport, the world’s leading ground provider at the airport and dealing with air freight, has announced a strategic partnership with the UK -based AURRIGGOLCOL PLC for the first global demo project that includes independent ground treatment solutions. Cooperation will be launched at Zurich Airport, where Swissport is placed as a pioneer in smart ground support equipment from the following generation (IGSE) and as an ascetic and technology conversion processor.

The initiative begins to publish a digital simulation platform at Zurich Airport, which represents the first step in exploring Swissport for independent ground handling solutions. The Auto-Sim® Swissport enables the design of the ground processes, in a virtual environment, identifying automatic operating opportunities, and supporting data-based infrastructure and operating planning.
The next phase of the pilot will include a vivid experience of Auto-Dollytug® cars from Aurrigo, which are equipped with an obstacle to 360 °, advanced circumstantial awareness, loading and automatic discharge capabilities of unit loading devices (ULDS). The system is designed to improve the slopes and merge them smoothly into fleet coordination strategies.

Cooperation at Zurich Airport is the first step in a broader operating plan. Swissport and AurriGo will in conjunction with the additional airport sites for future implementation, as Swissport has obtained exclusive operating rights for independent solutions for Aurriigo in its cooperation sites. Swissport will also benefit from early access to the independent AURRIGO wallet, including the remote control system and its command, allowing the deployment of independent assets across the company’s global network.
