Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hacis) – a value-added logistics subsidiary of Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) – has elevated its long-standing collaboration with Flexport, a global leader in logistics and supply chain technology, into a strategic partnership aimed at establishing Hong Kong as a key transit hub for Flexport.
Hacis initially supported Flexport with mail handling services, later expanding its role to include Merge-in-Transit (MiT) solutions and direct import and export services at the airport. Today, Hacis offers a fully integrated suite of solutions that allow Flexport to move goods across Hong Kong with enhanced efficiency, scalability and control.
Through its MiT offering, Hacis consolidates shipments coming from multiple sources under the control of a freight forwarder at its Hong Kong hub before distributing them. Its direct airport services cover cargo collection, delivery, documentation, airport storage, containerization and fulfillment. These operations are located directly adjacent to the aircraft apron at SuperTerminal 1, allowing for maximum speed, seamless processing and high-performance service levels.
Ringo Chan, CEO of Hacis, said:
“With our integrated one-stop service, we enable Flexport to route cargo through Hong Kong with greater reliability and efficiency. This partnership reflects how Hacis continues to adapt to evolving customer needs and support their growth, while strengthening Hong Kong’s competitive advantage in global air logistics.”
Daniel Sanvicente, Senior Vice President and Head of Asia Pacific at Flexport, said:
“With its comprehensive approach and direct airside access facility, the partnership with Hacis enables Flexport to deliver consolidated, highly efficient air services across an extensive network. Leveraging Hong Kong’s strategic location as a key gateway for shipments from southern China, this collaboration strengthens our connectivity and service offerings, fueling Flexport’s growth in southern China and our expanding presence across Southeast Asia and beyond.”
As global supply chain dynamics continue to shift, Flexport is accelerating the build-out of its network in the Asia-Pacific region, enhancing its air cargo capabilities, and utilizing Hong Kong’s strategic location as a central transit hub for regional and global trade. This deep collaboration with Hacis underscores Flexport’s commitment to providing smoother logistics services, greater flexibility and a more flexible air freight network.
