Thai Smartlynx, a specialized airline in ACMI, has reached a major landmark with the arrival of the first Airbus A320-200 at the Don Ming International Airport on Friday, August 22, 2025. The delivery of aircraft is the last step in the ARAN Air Player Certificate Certificate (AOC) from the Civil Children from Thailand (CAAT).
The Thai Smartlynx will provide flexible solutions to the fleet management through the ACMI business model (aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance), designed to support seasonal aircraft needs in Thailand. According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), airline -dependent tourism contributes to $ 22.2 billion in GDP in Thailand and works 3.2 million people. The entry of Solutions Acmi in Thailand is in time, in line with the Tourism Authority in the Thailand strategy to diversify tourism offers and encourage foreign tourists to explore destinations outside the main tourist cities in Thailand.
“Today’s connection is more than just a proud moment of the company, it is a strong symbol of our commitment to support the aviation and tourism sector in Thailand,” said Martinas Griegas, Chairman of the Thai Board of Directors. “ACMI provides a key solution by providing aircraft not only but also the crew, maintenance and insurance. This allows our client airlines to expand the scope of operations during peak or cover the founding aircraft without the need for significant investment or long -term obligations.”
The arrival of the plane coincides with the opening of the new Thai Operations Office at Don Mwing International Airport (DMK), which enhances the airline’s commitment to establishing a strong base in Thailand. The DMK operations office is placed to respond quickly to customer requirements, improve operational efficiency, and enhance accurate cooperation with airline partners.
Airbus A320 is famous for its multiple uses and fuel efficiency and reliability, and will act as a Thi Smartlynx fleet. The airline plans to gradually expand its fleet with additional A320 aircraft to provide effective ACMI solutions for both Thai and regional transport companies. These airlines will provide the ability to experiment with new methods, add temporary capacity, or improve networks without the provided capital spending.
