TezJet Airlines has officially started direct passenger services between Delhi (DEL) and Bishkek (FRU), marking a milestone in air connectivity between India and Kyrgyzstan. The new route is expected to enhance tourism, trade and cultural ties between the two countries while providing travelers a convenient and affordable option for travel.

Often referred to as the “Switzerland of Central Asia,” Kyrgyzstan is known for its stunning mountain landscapes, alpine lakes, and rich nomadic heritage. From the crystal-clear waters of Lake Issyk-Kul to the bustling markets and Soviet-era charm of Bishkek, the country offers Indian travelers an exciting mix of adventure, nature and culture – all just a short, direct flight from Delhi. Thanks to simplified visa procedures and a rapidly growing tourism infrastructure, Kyrgyzstan is becoming an increasingly popular destination for Indian holiday makers, filmmakers and adventure tourists.

The inaugural flight ceremony was held at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DIAL), in the presence of the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to India, senior representatives of GMR Airports, and other dignitaries. The event began with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, led by the Ambassador and key officials, symbolizing the beginning of this new chapter in bilateral engagement. The check-in counters were decorated to mark the occasion and passengers were welcomed with sweets and a celebratory cake cutting ceremony in which TezJet staff, airport authorities and passengers participated.

Commenting on the launch, Arun Kumar, President and CEO, TezJet Airlines said:
“We are delighted to see the launch of our flights between Delhi and Bishkek. This route represents not only a new journey, but also a new bridge connecting two vibrant regions. India is an important market for us, and we look forward to welcoming Indian travelers to experience the beauty and hospitality of Kyrgyzstan.”

As part of the airline’s expansion into South Asia, TezJet has appointed Aeroprime Group as its General Sales Agent (GSA) in India. Headquartered in New Delhi, Aeroprime is a leading aviation services company with a proven track record of airline representation, sales, customer support and operations in multiple countries and cities. The company will be responsible for leading TezJet’s passenger and cargo sales, marketing and customer service efforts in India.

Abhishek Goyal, MD & CEO, Aeroprime Group, said:
“We are proud to partner with TezJet on this exciting flight. The start of direct flights between Delhi and Bishkek will open up huge opportunities for tourism and business, bringing the peoples of India and Kyrgyzstan closer together.”

The new service will initially operate once a week, every Sunday, providing passengers and freight customers with direct access between the two capitals. This route is expected to develop further in frequency and scope, providing long-term value to both the leisure and commercial sectors.
