Swissport expands air merchandise services to Milan Malibnes


Swissport works to enhance its presence in Italy with the launch of goods processing in Milan Malnsins. The company also plans to expand beyond the new shipping operations in Malpensa, and follows the growth activity in ground handling, air merchandise, hall hospitality and executive flights throughout Italy.

Swissport, the world’s pioneering provider for ground services at the airport and dealing with air cargo, expands its presence in Italy with the launch of shipping operations in Milan Malibnes. This strategic step is a new chapter for Swissport ITALIA, which enhances its commitment to the Italian market.

The company’s new shipping operations are located in Milan Malpeta in the goods warehouse in the second line of 4000 square meters within the WTC Malpensa complex called WTC Malpensa. The newly renewed facility meets the highest standards of industry to obtain customs certificates, safety and security.

Swissport will initially focus on import processing, pre -factor clearance, and distribution to express delivery service providers. In the second stage, the company aims to develop export operations and expand its offers for public charging customers and air freight in Milan Malbinza and all over Italy. “The freight strategy in Swiss in Italy is aimed at expanding to Melons, the main center for air freight operations in Italy,” says Massimo Roccasica, Swissport Director of Swissport Italy.

In 2024, Swissport International AG dealt with nearly five million tons of air conditions (2023: 4.7 million) in 117 air charging centers around the world. Many of its warehouses for pharmaceutical logistics were adopted by the British CEV Pharma from IATA and MHRA. At the end of December 2024, the world’s pioneer in land services at the airport and dealing with air cargo, with about 61,000 employees, was active in 279 airports in 45 countries in six continents.
