SkyCell Partners with Ivoclaar Group to improve reverse logistical processes
SKYCell, a technology company that is led by the purpose of the pharmaceutical supply chain, has a partnership with IvocLar to improve reverse logistical processes.
This first partnership of its kind aims to reduce CO₂ significantly, reduce waste and reduce total costs. The new strategy cancels empty return trips by filling SkyCell containers with Ivoclar platforms in the DSV Air & Sea.

The global pharmaceutical industry transports more than one trillion dollars annually, and some of these pharmaceutical products are transported under strict conditions controlled by the temperature to maintain their effectiveness, and in many cases, they save lives. However, the current logistical scene often sees the transport containers that return empty to its origin, which contributes to unnecessary emissions and incompetence.
Based on a successful pilot launched in December 2023 and officially began in February 2024, cooperation is strengthening partnerships with leading transportation providers and logistical services. Previously, SkyCell has shipped its hybrid containers loaded with pharmaceutical preparations from various manufacturers to the United States of America, while Ivoclaar sent its products from the Somerset facility, USA to destinations like Zurich, Europe, to meet global demand.
“As shown in the study of the Massachusetts Institute for the latest technology, emissions tracking of reverse logistical services represents a major challenge for most pharmaceutical companies. However, by integrating IVoclar discussions into our mixed containers, we improve charging efficiency,” said Paulo Bumgartner, Head of Operations and Procurement Department at SkyCell.
“Innovation does not always mean re -invention of the wheel. Our goal is to improve the creation of value in the supply chain by developing new methods in the current framework. We achieve this by using current resources in a cooperative manner without any additional costs and access to synergy,” said Olivier Heat, global transport director at Ivoclar.
SkyCell’s commitment to reducing emissions is highlighted in the latest sustainability report, which separates the ongoing efforts and results via the value chain. The company aims to improve transportation redefining its position by enhancing its operational capabilities, increasing the number of available containers, and using more ocean charging for reverse logistical services.
