Singapore became a net importer of jet fuel, while net diesel exports slumped

Singapore was a net importer of jet fuel for the week ended October 22, while net diesel exports fell 13% week-on-week, official government data showed on Thursday.

Imports of jet fuel from China were the most common this week, and were a major contributor to the city-state turning into a net importer.

Total aviation fuel exports fell by 67% week on week, with most of the volume exported to Indonesia and Australia in the week.

Meanwhile, for diesel fuel and gas, net exports fell by 13% week on week even though total imports fell more quickly.

This week’s imports mostly came from regional exporters such as Malaysia and Thailand.

Exports are aimed at Indonesia, Malaysia and Myanmar.

The volume sent to the Netherlands was likely biofuel, according to Kpler ship tracking data.
