New York City mayor’s candidates respond to fire in central Manhattan



Zahran Mamdani, Cortis Slawa and Andrew Como moved to comment on the application of the law after at least two people were shot, including a police officer in New York City outside the service, in the lobby of a building from the Manhattan office.

All the three candidates for the municipality of New York City condemned the shooting, which took place on Monday night in a building that includes Blackstone offices, Deutsche Bank and JP Morgan. He shoots the shooter, who is believed to have been acting alone, shot himself.

“I am sad when I learned about the terrible shooting in the city center and carried the victims and their families and the New York police officer in a critical condition in my thoughts,” Mamdani, the democratic candidate, wrote on X.

Mayor Eric Adams, who is running for his re -election, said that he was briefed on the situation and appeared on the scene in a video posted on social media, and informed the occupants of the building to stay at home where he conducted the application of the law in search. He also said that many people were injured.

Komo, who runs on a third -party polling line, said it is “terrified” from the shooting.

He wrote on x.

Slawa, the Republican candidate for a second consecutive round, said he was “annoyed” due to the shooting.
