Menzies Aviation, the leading service partner in airports and airlines in the world, has announced a bold progress against everything in the strategy in sustainability, as stated in the annual review and sustainability report 2024.
In a historical step of the company, Menzies has become the first major aviation services provider that gets the Net-Zero goals that have been validated by the Science-based goals initiative (SBTI)-a milestone on its way to reach Net-Zero by 2045.
The company’s commitment to removal of the carbon has witnessed the addition of more than 850 units of electric support equipment (GSE), which helps to reach 22 % of the global GSE fleet electrification in 2024, after which this increased to 24 % worldwide so far in 2025 and 50 % in Europe. In addition to advancing against the GSE electric goal for the year 2025, the company presented two new environmental goals: achieving zero waste to the landfill in shipping operations by the end of 2026 and reducing paper consumption by 10 % in 2025.
Sustainability efforts in Menzies continue to provide measurable results that reduce range 1, 2 and 3 in general. TCO₂E’s density rates have decreased per dollar ‘000 revenues to 0.04 (2022: 0.06) while emissions per employee fully fell by 19 % from 2.91 to 2.36 Tco₂e.
