Lufthansa Cargo launches VR training for download supervisors
Lufthansa Cargo has started developing a new type of virtual reality training (VR) for aircraft loading supervisors, and again defines new standards in the air charging industry. Through this leading training method, the company sets new criteria in training the ground employees and enhances its position as a pioneer for innovation in the logistical services industry.
VR training is designed to prepare employees for the tasks of treating their aircraft in a realistic way – with flexibility, safety and independent of operational requirements. Operations, safety regulations and communication can be intensively in a virtual environment. The overwhelming nature of VR technology allows the transmission of learning content more and enhances a permanent practical understanding of operations. In addition, the learning content is absorbed more quickly, as training participants can better focus on the content.
“Through this project, we are not only enhancing the qualifications of supervisors to load our aircraft, but also our role as an innovation driver in the industry. This technology allows us to train our employees in a practical way while ensuring the highest safety and efficiency standards,” says Momo Rosic, the station manager in Luvthansa.
The first stereotypical unit of training is scheduled to be held in October 2025. Luffhansa Cargo is one of the first companies in the air freight industry that uses this innovative technology to train supervisors to load aircraft, confirming its demand that they are a leader in digital solutions and training methods. VR use does not provide an effective and flexible training option, but also an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional training methods, as material resources are required and learning content can be delivered with high quality constantly.
