Kazakhstan oil exports q1 rose 7% y/y in the increase in BPK, the data shows


Kazakhstan increased oil exports by 7% year to year to 19.515 million metric tons (1.63 million barrels per day) in January-March thanks to an increase in supply through the Caspian pipe, the calculation of reuters based on data and official sources showed.

Oil output and exports from Kazakhstan, Top-10 oil producers, have been in the spotlight because the Central Asian country has exceeded the quota agreed by the OPEC+ Alliance, making the angry of several group members, including Saudi Arabia.

The Caspian Pipe Consortium, which exports oil from Kazakhstan through the Russian Black Sea Terminal, has been covered by drone attacks and fighting about terminal equipment at the Russian Black Sea Port in Novorossiq.

Russia said the BPK pump station in the southern country was attacked by Drone Ukraine in February, while in March a nearest oil depot was also determined after the alleged strike of Ukraine drones.

According to the Kazakhstan situational and analytic center for the fuel and energy complex in the Ministry of Energy, the first quarter exports through BPK rose 11% from the previous year to 16,388 million tons.

The inventory of CVX Tengiz Oilfield led by Chevron, the largest in the country, jumped 26% in that period to 8.944 million tons in the midst of field expansion, data showed.

Exports to China through the upper pipeline of 11% decreased in the first three months this year to 238,000 tons.

Kazakh oil exports through the Soviet Druzhba pipe through Russia to Germany increased in January-March to 377,000 tons from 300,000 tons in the same period in 2024.

According to the Kazakh Kaztransoil pipe operator, inventory through the standard pipeline-tbilisi-ceyhan, which was designed to cut Russia as a transit route, decreased in the first quarter to 319,206 tons from 364,650 tons in the beginning of the year.
