Greenville-Spartanburg Airport District signs a new partnership agreement with Frankfurt Han Airport
The Greenville Spartpurg Airport region signed a new partnership agreement with Trio Han GmbH Airport in Germany. According to the agreement, Greenville Spartenberg International Airport (GSP) in South Carolina in South Carolina and Frankfurt Airport (HHN) located in Rinland-Falates in Germany in Germany will explore opportunities to cooperate in initiatives to enhance charging and air air activity in both airports.
Efforts will include the formation of technical groups that focus on sharing best practices in operations, technology, safety, sustainability and customer service. Frankfurt Han Airport is one of the few airports in Germany with a 24 -hour operating permit.
Thanks to its central location between the cities of Frankfurt, Colonia and Luxembourg, HHN can effectively serve the main manufacturing and logistical services throughout the European Union and provide access to the Middle East and Asia. Likewise, the main GSP site in the southeast allows the airport to be an ideal entry into the United States and a transfer point between Europe, Mexico, Canada and South America.
Airports are planning to cooperate initially to expand air charging opportunities between South Carolina and Rhineland-Palaatinate by expanding current trade lines and developing new shipping businesses between each airport. “GSP and HHN have worked together on many successful air freight projects over the years. Our teams have recently managed to meet face to face and found that we have participated in similar challenges and opportunities. Approval to work together to improve our airports and regions is a subsequent exciting step in our relationship.
“We are pleased to make our partnership with the generalized system of preference. This cooperation is a testimony to our common vision of growth and innovation. By combining our strengths and sharing best practices, we can create new opportunities for both passengers and shipping between regions and our customers.
