FRA enhances charging volumes in May


About 5.6 million passengers traveled through Frankfurt Airport (FRA) in May 2025, which represents an increase of 1.8 percent compared to the same month last year.

The sizes of goods (which include air and air mail conditions) in Fra grew by 4.4 percent on an annual basis to 178,977 metric tons in the month of reports. The aircraft movements increased by 5.7 percent to 42255 takeoffs and landing, while the maximum weight of accumulated takeoff (or MTOWS) increased by 4.4 percent, reaching about 2.6 million metric tons in May.

Fraport Group Airports all over the world also registered the number of passengers in May 2025. At Lju Airport, traffic increased by 13.5 percent compared to May last year, with 151,849 passengers using a Slovenian gate. In Brazil, the Fortteza airport (for) and Puerto Alegre (Poa) welcomed 1.1 million passengers in May, an annual increase of 132.3 percent. The large increase was primarily due to the recurring effect of the closure of Poa last year after severe floods. Lima Airport (LIM) in Peru recorded about 2.2 million passengers in May 2025, an increase of 6.3 percent over the previous year.

Traffic at the 14 Greek regional airport increased by 1.0 percent to a total of 3.7 million passengers. The two coastal airports in Bojas (Boj) and Varna (VAR) in Bulgaria witnessed that traffic grows significantly by 24.1 percent to 222,806 passengers in general. On the Turkish Riviera, traffic at Antalya (AYT) has been stable at about 3.9 million passengers, unchanged in the previous year.

The total number of travelers at all airports run by the Fraport Group has grown 6.0 percent on an annual basis to about 16.8 million in May 2025.

Beyond FRA is strengthening the charging sizes in May, first appeared in the week of air cargo.
