Fedex started its operations in a modern mechanism sorting facility located in the new shipping area at Talin Airport. The facility, which combines ground and air services, aims to help Estonian customers compete and win a flexible, effective and smart logistical network.

Fedex is the first shipping station on the southern side of the Airport City Business Complex at Talin Airport. Thanks to modern screening systems, the facility can process and ship thousands of charges daily. Through its direct connection to the Fedex Air Global network, the new facility of the ambitious Estonian entrepreneurs enables access to international markets and support the development of their business as well as the Estonian economy.

Supporting the growth of companies and Estonian economics

“Our recent investment strengthens Estonia in global trade,” said Marius Mick, Vice President of Earth Operations, Northeast, Fedex Europe. “By focusing on speed and efficiency, FEDEX not only supports the country’s economy, such as the growing e -commerce sector, but also enabling local entrepreneurs to reach customers in more than 220 markets all over the world. This is how we link Estonia culture to innovate with the world.”

Investment is also welcomed by the main players in the industry.

“E -commerce in Estonia grows about 20 % every year, as it has already reached annual sales of 5.2 billion euros,” said Tõnu väät, CEO of the Estonian E -Commerce Association. “It is certain that there is still room for growth in Estonian exports, especially in the field of e-commerce. There is no doubt that one global obstacle is the high cost of logistical services-small storage units, and expensive shipping.”

“Any investment in Estonia by an international logistical partner-whether in sorting, warehouse space or transportation conditions-definitely sets a basis for export growth. For this reason we welcome the opening of the new Fedex Logistical Center in Tallinn, and we hope, in light of this recent development, that we are also able to provide more competitive stoning electronic prices.”

With a three -fold increase in the area, the new FedEX warehouse is designed to meet the current and future demand from Estonian companies. Equipped with modern screening systems, it can process, weigh and measure up to 3000 parcels per hour-which greatly enhances operational speed and efficiency. Among its advanced techniques is a multi -sided survey, which captures the dimensions of the package and barcode data from all angles, ensuring precise and smooth sorting. The warehouse has direct access to the airport, where the FEDEX plane works every working day. This connection connects Estonia directly with Paris Ruwais Charles de Gaold, the largest air center of the company in Europe, which works as a gateway to international markets throughout the United States and Asia.

The elbow also includes 1,200 square meters of modern office space, with infrastructure, to simplify daily work and provide team members with optimal working conditions.

The building includes technological solutions that are in line with the company’s focus on sustainability. The photovoltaic system diversified on the surface electricity sources in the building, and the movement sensors control automatic lighting in offices and warehouses, and electric car charging devices are available in the parking lot. The building and air conditioning are heated using heat pumps, using ground thermal energy.
