FEDEX opens a new facility for global air transportation at Istanbul Airport
- FEDEX has officially opened a global crossing facility at Istanbul Airport, which enhances its strategic presence at the intersection of Europe, Asia and Africa.
- The Mail Samway facility, which operates 7000 buckets per hour, includes advanced automation capable of treating 7000 buckets per hour, and operating it since August 2025, the Mase 25300 square meters has been operating

Federal Express Corporation has announced the official opening of its new global air transport facility at Istanbul Airport (IST). This strategic facility is placed at the crossroads of the East and West, in a country that quickly stands out as a global air shipping ruling and a major email center across border.

Since August 2025, the modern facility represents a long -term investment on the site. It strengthens FedEx Global and confirms the company’s commitment to enabling global trade through advanced logistical infrastructure and advanced technology.

A strategic crossroads for global trade
Isanbul is located at the intersection of Europe, Asia and Africa, in a unique position to serve as a strategic logistics center. This new facility connects Türkiye with 30 weekly FEDEX trips to and from the main markets in the United States, Europe and the Middle East and provides the ability to grow in the future through the region. The site also integrates the Fedex Air Global network in Fedex Road, one of the largest in the region, where it connects 45 countries and deals with 1.3 million shipping per week. Istanbul Airport, which is now the most more air freight center in Europe, treated nearly two million tons of goods in 2024, an increase of 24 % over the previous year.
The M. 25300 square meters collects the main operations under one roof, including air portal functions, integrated customs clearance teams, and basic offices support. The elbow is characterized by technologies such as an automatic sorting system, high -speed safety examination, and capabilities to deal with dangerous goods. With 3 times the previous sorting capacity, it can process up to 7000 buckets per hour, which greatly increases the size of the size. In addition, three high -speed graphic machines with high -speed X -ray equipped with artificial intelligence increase from increased speed, accuracy and security for charging examination.
