Embraer is developing an AI solution to increase data-driven operational efficiency

  • Intelligent planning will allow greater management of production parts inventories and greater flexibility for future adjustments in the production chain
  • The project was developed with the participation of Aquarela Analytics, a leading company in applying artificial intelligence and data analysis

Embraer and Aquarela Analytics, a leader in the use of artificial intelligence and data analysis, conducted a ten-month detailed assessment of more than 2 terabytes of information to promote greater integration of processes within the supply chain.

“Intelligent Planning is the latest data tool developed and integrated to make Embraer’s operations more efficient,” says Dimas Tomlin, Vice President of Strategy, Digital and Innovation at Embraer. “It consists of an interactive dashboard about the materials used in the production process of our aircraft, which helps the planning team in managing procurement and inventory levels to have more predictability in the event of a shortage or excess of materials thanks to the use of artificial intelligence and a forecast model.”

Combining the use of two methodologies – Agile from Embraer and Data Literacy from Aquarela Analytics – the project was divided into two main phases over a total of ten months, starting with structuring the framework for extracting, preparing and developing the AI models through to the visualization layers.

“Throughout the process, we applied all our expertise in data analysis, platforms and AI algorithms to optimize, transform and integrate the Embraer operating system,” says Marcos Santos, CEO of Aquarela Analytics. “It was a challenging project, where at each stage we deepened and broadened the scope while measuring complexity and results. We are very happy with the result and especially with the partnership established with Embraer.”

Intelligent planning not only improved Embraer’s inventory planning, but also laid a solid foundation for future supply chain innovations. Through digitization and greater data integration, it is possible to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, improve quality and strengthen relationships with suppliers and partners.
