Disney to build a park in Abu Dhabi
Disney announced on Wednesday that Abu Dhabi will be home to Walt Disney Resort Seventh Park, in partnership with Miral, an entertainment company based in the United Arab Emirates, Disney announced on Wednesday.
The opening date has not been announced, but Walt Disney said in a press statement that Miral, led by a senior emirate official, will develop and build the waterfront park in the famous tourist destination Yas. The Disney team “Imagine” will lead the creative design and operational supervision, according to the announcement.
“Disney Land Abu Dhabi will be Disney in an original and Emirati way clearly – a oasis of unusual entertainment in Disney at the crossroads of the world that will bring in life our eternal characters and stories in several new ways and will become a source of joy and inspiration for members of this vast region to enjoy coming generations.”
He added: “As our seventh view of the theme park, it will rise from this land in an amazing way, as contemporary architecture mix with advanced technology to provide guests with immersive entertainment experiences deeply in unique and modern ways.”
The new Disney Park will plan the wide partnerships group in the United Arab Emirates with the entertainment industry leaders, including the Louvre Museum, the Formula 1 race, Seaword and Warner Bros. And all contain the distinctive attractions in Abu Dhabi.
“The cooperation between Abu Dhabi and Disney explains the wonderful results of combining insight and creative excellence,” said the President of Miral Muhammad Khalifa, Molark, a member of the Executive Council in Abu Dhabi, in a statement.
He added, “By developing unique attractions and experiences, Abu Dhabi is still a destination for choice for the world.”
The deal was revealed in the introduction of the separate investor in Disney on Wednesday. She pointed out that the company will not provide funding for the project, but it will get royalties based on the garden revenues and receive some service fees.
The park is expected to include accommodations under the title, dining and retail site.
This announcement also comes as President Trump is expected to visit the Middle East next week, including a possible station in the United Arab Emirates, where the administration is working to mediate in the ceasefire deal between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
