Democrats are pressing Rubio to allow Palestinian children with the United States
Dozens of Democrats in the House of Representatives are pressuring the Trump administration to allow Palestinian children to be wounded in the Israeli war of Hamas to search for emergency medical care in the United States.
Earlier this month, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs suddenly suspended the issuance of visas for people from Gaza, including human medical visas, noting the need to examine the operation that allowed some of these visitors to enter the United States to the official suspension, and was also published on the social platform x, a day after the right -wing activist Laura Lumir, the attack on the human visas as a threat to national security.
In a letter to Foreign Minister Marco Rubio, more than 140 Democrats in the House of Representatives said that policy change was unable to imagine. They claim the administration to the opposite of the path and the end of the suspended visa in order to provide children with “medical care they need strongly.”
The lawmakers wrote in the speech of August 25, which was led by actors Deby Degal (De Mish) and Kim Sherir (D-Wish).
“In addition, this decision ignores the fact that all Palestinians who leave Gaza for medical treatment or to accompany family members who receive medical treatment are already undergoing strict audit by the Israeli government, including the Israeli security permit, identification verification, and evaluating whether they were linked to enthusiasm,” they added. “
The message was relied upon by more than two -thirds of the democratic gatherings in the House of Representatives, including prominent defenders of Israel, such as Representative Deby Vasermann Cholz (Florida), Brad Schneider (Il) and Josh Gotley (NJ).
A number of Palestinians had already entered the country with medical visas for humans when Lomer, who succeeded in pressure for administrative changes throughout the year, went on social media to condemn the new arrivals. A video clip of the Palestinians arrived in San Francisco to medical treatments-the travel of travel by a non-profitable group of Ohio to help the injured in the Israeli war-Hamas-Lomer warned that visitors pose a threat to public safety.
“Why does any Islamist invaders come to the United States under the leadership of Trump’s official? This is a threat to national security,” was published in X on August 15. “We did not vote for more Islamic immigration to the United States.”
A day later, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published its own message to X, saying that the visas will be temporarily stopped.
The agency wrote: “All visitor visas for individuals from Gaza are stopped during a full and comprehensive review of the operation and the procedures used to issue a small number of temporary medical visas in recent days.”
Rubio defended the move, saying that it was presented after she contacted the “many” offices of Congress by managing him with evidence that some organizations boast and participate in them, so obtaining these visas have strong links to terrorist groups such as Hamas. “
“It is not just children. It is a group of adults who accompany them,” Rubio said in an interview on August 17 on the “Face the Nation” program.
Democrats in the House of Representatives are not convinced. In their letter, they asked Rubio to determine the concerns of the national security that prompted his agency to stop the visas. They also want the administration to present a timetable that rules its internal review.
Meanwhile, legislators urge the administration to exempt from those Palestinians who need medical attention in emergency situations.
The Democrats wrote: “We immediately appeal to you to reflect the decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the resumption of allowing Gaza with temporary medical visas approved to enter the United States to receive the care for saving the life they need.”
