Chinese coal imports from Russia rose 6% in March, Indonesia Slide

Chinese coal imports from Russia rose 6% in March from the same month last year to 7.33 million metric tons, data from the General Customs Administration was shown on Sunday, despite logistics and western sanctions.

Coal imports from the largest supplier in China, Indonesia fell 9% to 17.96 million tons, after Indonesia began to use the price of the government bench-set stone as a floor price for transactions starting March 1.

Chinese coal imports as a whole fell 6% in March, dragged by high port inventory and weak domestic demand that has pushed the price of spots to the lowest position of four years.
