With over 65 years of experience and operations on three continents, Çelebi Aviation is a trusted international brand in ground handling and cargo services. This year, its subsidiary in Turkey, Celebi Hava Service, a leading ground handling and shipping services company, achieved a major milestone by earning a place in the “World’s Best Companies for Sustainable Growth 2026” list compiled by TIME and Statista. After a rigorous evaluation based on reduced environmental impact, sustainable growth potential and financial performance, Celebi Hava Service was ranked 31st in the world, becoming one of only four companies from Turkey to be recognised.
The TIME/Statista methodology evaluates multidimensional indicators, including energy consumption, carbon footprint management, waste reduction, environmental compliance, corporate governance, and financial growth performance. Đelebi Hava Servisi excelled in these categories thanks to its data-driven management systems, technology investments to reduce emissions, and long-term infrastructure strategy.
Operating within the global structure of Đelebi Aviation, Đelebi Hava Servisi qualified for the list on the strength of its long-term transformation program built on a vision of safety, digitalisation, operational excellence and sustainable value creation. This international recognition demonstrates that the company’s robust and scalable business model, which manages financial performance and environmental impact reduction in parallel, has been validated against global standards.
As part of Çelebi’s broader sustainability agenda, the Türkiye operation serves as an important implementation platform for organization-wide initiatives in recruitment, technology investments, digital transformation and environmental compliance. These efforts complement the strong performance across Çelebi’s international operations, while continued investments in Türkiye continue to deliver tangible progress that supports the company’s global success.
Serving more than 400 airline partners and supporting the travel experience of millions of passengers, the company continues to implement initiatives focused on environmental compliance, digitalization and energy efficiency with a professional team of more than 8,000 employees.
Celebi has a fleet of more than 700 units of ground support electric equipment (GSE) across its network, representing approximately 35 percent of its total equipment, and is on track to increase this share to more than 50 percent in the near term. Solar-powered facilities have been commissioned across multiple plants, architectural solutions focused on energy efficiency have been adopted, and AI-powered automation systems are reducing emissions, increasing safety levels and significantly improving operations.
Examples across Chelby Aviation’s international network include the deployment of electric de-icing vehicles and LEED-certified technical maintenance and charging facilities at Istanbul Airport, a fleet in Hungary of more than 100 electric vehicles, including the EU’s first 35-tonne electric forklift at Budapest Airport; And in Indonesia, a plant where 77 percent of the newly acquired ground support equipment is electric, reflecting our commitment to building sustainable operations from day one in emerging markets.
Besides these environmental and operational initiatives, Celebi Hava Service addresses sustainable growth not only through environmental KPIs, but also through inclusivity, safety, innovation, data-driven management and long-term value creation. The company continues to work to become a global reference point in environmental, digital and operational transformation while expanding and standardizing its sustainability framework across all regions.
“Being included on this important list compiled by Time magazine underscores our strong commitment to sustainability on an international level,” said Dave Dorner, CEO of Shelby Aviation Group. “This achievement is a tangible reflection of our shared vision to build safer, more inclusive and environmentally responsible aviation infrastructure in all the regions in which we operate.”
