Cargolux, Ait, Microsoft INK, the largest green shipping deal ever
Cargolux and Global Freight Reading Ait Worldwide Logistics signed the largest sustainable aviation fuel deal (SAF) in its history, in cooperation with Microsoft, in order to transport their server shelves (Microsoft Cloud Logistics). This leading partnership will provide 66,000 tons of carbon dioxide over three years, between 2025 and 2027.
SAF, which is produced and delivered by Valero Marketing & Supply Companya Diamond Green Diesel LLC, depends on cooking oil and length used – without palm oil or any derivatives – to ensure a moral and sustainable supply chain. Added to Cargolux’s fuel stock at George Intercontinental Airport in Houston (IAH).
Based on their commitment to responsible operations, Cargolax and AIT are used as a round registry in the RSB registry (RSB) to ensure a transparent and reliable process to track SAF claims and retirement. This cooperation enhances the accountability of sustainable aviation, with elegant SAF itself according to the standards of the European Union/Corsia.
