BESSENT: The United States has not yet been involved in trade talks with China
Treasury Secretary Scott Beesen legislators on Tuesday said that the United States is not involved in trade negotiations with China “so far”, but commercial deals with other partners can be announced in the coming days.
Comments brought some clarity after Trump suggested last month that labor discussions with China occurred at different levels, and they claim that Beijing has constantly denied him. In recent days, Chinese officials have been holding US proposals to start talks.
“There are 18 very important trading relationships. We are currently negotiating with 17 of these commercial partners,” Pesin said before the financial services allocations in the House of Representatives. “China, we haven’t participated in negotiations yet.”
Al -Amin said that he expected to see “a significant decrease in the definitions that are being shipped, as well as the non -carrier barriers, currency manipulation, and support for both investment in work and capital.”
The Economic Analysis Office said on Tuesday that the deficit of goods and services was 140.5 billion dollars in March, or nearly $ 17 billion in the number recorded in February.
During the hearing on Tuesday, Besent said that the largest part of the nation’s trade deficit is 15 countries.
He said: “Eighteen percent of the two countries are our main commercial partners, and I will be surprised if we do not have more than 80 or 90 percent of the one that concluded by the end of the year.”
BESSENT expected commercial deals with some of the largest American commercial partners as soon as possible this week.
“They came to us with very good offers, and what I will tell you is that in negotiating with each other, they may not like the tariff that President Trump put forward, but they have,” he said. “If the definitions are very bad, then why do they love them?”
