Aviator has signed a multi-year contract with Nouvelair for full handling services at Helsinki Airport

  • Aviator Airport Alliance has signed its first ground handling contract with Tunisian airline Nouvelair at Helsinki Airport, effective October 27.
  • Aviator’s Finland team will provide full-service support, including passenger handling, ramp operations and de-icing for Nouvelair’s weekly charter flights between Helsinki and Monastir.
  • The agreement represents a strategic expansion for both companies: Aviator is strengthening its presence in the Nordic countries, while Nouvelair is building its presence in Finland to capitalize on tourism demand heading to Tunisia. Nouvelair, Tunisia’s second largest airline, operates a fleet of A320 and A320neo aircraft and maintains close relationships with other Avia Solutions Group entities across Europe.

Aviator Airport Alliance (Aviator), the largest independent provider of airport ground handling services in the Nordics and part of the Avia Solutions Group, has signed a contract with Tunisian airline Nouvelair to provide handling services at Helsinki Airport. The contract, the first between the two companies, began on October 27.

The Aviator Airport Alliance team in Finland will provide a full range of services, including passenger handling, ramp handling and de-icing. Nouvelair currently operates weekly flights between Helsinki and Monastir on the Tunisian coast.

Kimmo Holopainen, Managing Director of Aviator Airport Services Finland, said: “We are very pleased to start this new partnership with Nouvelair. Aviator in Helsinki will provide reliability and high-quality service, ensuring safety and efficiency for all your handling needs with Nouvelair here.”

“We believe in Tunisia’s potential as an attractive location for Finnish holidaymakers, and our presence in Finland is developing,” said Zorad Shukri, CEO of Nouvelair. “In Aviator, we have a reliable ground handling partner who can support our growth there.”

Founded in 1989, Nouvelair is Tunisia’s second largest airline, operating a number of flights between Europe and the North African country. Its fleet consists of Airbus A320 and A320 Neo aircraft, and its main bases are in Tunis, Djerba and Monastir. Nouvelair has successfully partnered with other members of the Avia Solutions Group in other European countries.
