Avianca Cargo reaffirms its commitment to providing consistent and excellent service to its customers. With its modern fleet and ever-expanding network, the airline strengthens its role as a strategic partner in the region and leads the expansion of its cargo operations with the addition of the new A330P2F aircraft.
This aircraft joins Avianca Cargo, completing its fleet, in collaboration with Avianca Cargo Mexico, of 9 A330 freighters (6 A330F and 3 A330P2F). The new combined freighter has a capacity of more than 60 tonnes and shares better fuel efficiency, payload capacity and volume with the A330 than other medium-sized freighters, while providing flexibility on medium-haul routes. These features allow the airline to continue to provide service that adapts to customer needs and maintains the highest quality standards.
“At Avianca Cargo, we celebrate our fleet expansion and the arrival of our new converted A330P2F freighter, an aircraft with more than 13 years of history that now joins our fleet to further ratify our commitment to connectivity and service.”
“Today we reach more than 350 destinations with an expanded network and continue to expand our connections to new markets.” says Diogo Elias, CEO of Avianca Cargo.
Pioneers in flower transportation
Likewise, under Proflora, Avianca Cargo celebrates its leadership in transporting flowers from Colombia to the United States. During 2025, the air freight company transported more than 100,000 tons of flowers from Ecuador and Colombia to the United States, Europe and Asia.
In addition, as part of its commitment to the sector, last year Avianca Cargo made significant investments to enhance its services. Among them are the official opening of the new Jetflor at the Medellín terminal, with an area of 850 square meters which has increased cargo handling capacity by 50 percent, as well as the transformation of the Miami cooler configuration in order to keep all perishable cargo in the best temperature conditions. This improved the quality of service and also increased capacity by 83 percent.
“We are pleased to be strategic allies and standards in the field of flower transportation. This year we certified our leadership in flower transportation to the United States, breaking a historic record, and over the seasons we achieved 8 percent growth, above the industry.” Diogo added.
In 2024, Colombia achieved outstanding performance in flower exports, reaching $2,350 million. This impressive result, driven by growth of 13 percent in value and 8 percent in volume, has strengthened the country’s position as the world’s second largest exporter. In addition, according to Asocolflores figures, Colombia remained the main supplier to key markets such as the United States, Spain and others.
