In early August, Easp Air BV and Ostend-Fruges signed a letter of intent to develop a barn and an offices complex in the latest model. The project includes spacious pens, each equipped with a three -storey office. The new facility will be a central location on the Apron 2, to replace the old structures. The total surface area of the new site will reach more than 4900 square meters.
“With this project, we take an important step towards renewing and modernizing our airport,” said Nathan de Falk, CEO of Osten-Bruges Airport. “We aim to achieve sustainable growth by investing in multiple strategic pillars.” For EASP air, development is a major milestone. “Our choice for Ostend is a deliberate scheme,” explained by Easp Air. “We are aware of the strong aspirations of the Osten-Fruges Airport, which is perfectly in line with our growth strategy. It makes its strategic location and infrastructure the perfect base for our own task experience.”
The planned center will focus on community -related specialized flights, including Coast Guard missions, anti -air fires, and support for disasters. Thanks to its strategic location and excellent facilities, Ostend Bruges offers an ideal base for such operations in the North Sea and the wider region. From this site, the Easp Air will continue to support its main final users efficiently and professionally-including the European Border and Coast Guard.
Strategic partnership
Easp air arrival enhances the airport position. “By investing not only on passenger and goods trips, but also in MRO activities (maintenance, repair and reform), we create additional employment opportunities in West Flasers and enhance the innovative and specialized personality of our airport.” “Moreover, synergy appears with other airports partners, such as Vives, in the context of technical training programs.”
Easp Air also sees great growth potential: “Thanks to the strategic location near the coast and national borders, and the existing facilities in OSTEND, we can support our entire operations throughout Europe and the United Kingdom in terms of maintenance, logistics and training.” “The presence of strong educational institutions in the region also creates opportunities for all stakeholders concerned.”
Maintenance and logistical facilities
New aircraft and office space will be the operational base for the EASP AIR fleet of the DO328 Maritime Patrol, providing safe parking and comprehensive maintenance capabilities. In addition, facilities will support maintenance activities in cooperation with the EASP AIR partner, Jetsupport. Jetsupport maintenance support will focus mainly on business and regional military training planes, such as Pilatus PC-7 and PC-21.
Hangars is widely designed to accommodate larger aircraft, including Bombardier Global 7500, during scheduled maintenance. Moreover, the site will include a pre -warehouse, safe storage areas, and shipments dedicated to supporting logistics. Office spaces will be shared by Easp Air NL/UK and Jetsupport and current tenants who are already active at Osten-Fruges Airport, which enhances synergy and operational efficiency within the airport’s flight.
