Airbus completes the first horizontal installation for charging A350F in Spain
Airbus has completed the first horizontal installation (HTP) to charge the A350F in its plants in Spain. This teacher explains Spain’s main role in the production of commercial aircraft, including the A350F program.
The production of the first horizontal installation of the A350F (HTP) included the Airbus factory in Cádiz, where parts of HTP and Getafe are manufactured, for assembly and processing.
This HTP will be shipped to the Airbus final assembly line (FAL) in Toulouse in the coming weeks to join the fuselage on the first test plane. Airbus manufactures two A350F aircraft to test in 2026 and 2027.
The A350F HTP can be manufactured in the same production line as the passenger version, which provides operational and industrial advantages and improvements.
“The A350F will provide a clean loop, specially designed to transport air charging, making more efficiency and diversity in the shipping market. With more than 1400 orders in Air Cargo in the future,” said Ricardo Rojas, president of Airbus’s Commercial Aircraft in Spain.
All in all, horizontal installation, rear fountain (section 19) and bottom covers for both A350 and A350F in Spain. In addition, the main charging door from the A350F, the largest in this industry, will also be manufactured in Spain. Made of compound materials, and contains a 4.3 -meter opening, which makes loading and discharge easier, faster and safer.
The A350F is designed to be the world’s most charging aircraft, and meet the advanced requirements of the global air freight market. In terms of efficiency, it will save at least 20 % decrease in fuel consumption2 Emissions compared to the currently in the service. Thanks to the possibility of a range of up to 8,700 km with a load of up to 111 tons, it will allow operators to publish it on long international roads.
