Copper output from Codelco Chile Slip 6% in February
Copper production from the State miners Chile Codelco dipped 6% of the years-to-year in February, data from the Cochilco Copper Commission was shown on Thursday, slipped to 98,100 metric tons.
Codelco is a Red Metal miners No. 1 globally, but has struggled to increase the decline in output in recent years.
Meanwhile production in the BHP Escondida Mine, the largest copper mine in the world, jumped 16%, rose to 113,400 tons.
In collahuasi, other large copper mines that are run together by Glencore Glen and Anglo American AAL, output slide 62% to only 17,000 metric tons.
Head of Chile Anglo American, Patricio Hidalgo, told Reuters earlier this week that the company hoped that the output in the mine would lean to the second half of this year.
