- Air Canada won the “Team Up” award for enhancing on-time delivery and data completeness through cross-functional teamwork. Kuehne+Nagel received a “Scale Up” award for improving air waybill data quality and shipment visibility by working closely with aviation partners.
- Q-Rally promotes continuous improvement in air freight by identifying projects compliant with Cargo iQ standards.
Cargo iQ was awarded two new awards at the Quality-Rally (Q-Rally) event held in November in Madrid.
Q-Rally encourages Cargo iQ members to showcase issues they have worked on and projects they have undertaken to enhance their operations in line with the Cargo iQ framework and standards.
Participants present their initiatives and share insights gained, highlighting successes and failures, and communicating them to wider Cargo iQ members, with prizes awarded for the best presentations.
The Team Up Award, won by Air Canada, recognizes members who have improved a selected aspect of their operations in collaboration with another organization or internal team.
The “Scaling Up” award, won by Kuehne+Nagel, explored the work done by one company in collaboration with multiple partners to drive improvement in a chosen topic.
“Part of raising operational quality is intentionally sharing the work done and explaining why it matters,” said Marie Sekou Koppen, CEO of Cargo iQ.
“Offering these two awards encourages collaboration, rewarding the behind-the-scenes work that drives industry standards forward.”
Air Canada received a “Team Up” award for aligning cross-functional teams, including operations, business and IT, to deliver measurable improvements together, achieving a seven per cent increase in As Promised Delivery (NFD) performance.
Air Canada has achieved significant gains in data completeness across the network, demonstrating that re-enforcing the Quality Management System (QMS) and providing tools to relevant employees, leads to improvements, making operations more robust and performance more reliable.
Kuehne+Nagel won a “Scale Up” award for identifying the root causes of why shipments fail to create valid air waybill route maps.
Working closely with partner airlines, the company strengthened ENCORE offset management, implemented Participant Identification and Mailing Address (PIMA) updates, and aligned internal problem resolution processes.
These updates allow more Kuehne+Nagel shipments to be evaluated against the criteria, allowing for better evaluation of carriers and providing better visibility to shippers.
The Q-Rally is held in the Cargo iQ Working Group, which brings members together to address common challenges and jointly develop practical solutions for the air cargo industry.
