The weight of Russia’s bunker grain harvest is above 145 million tons, the deputy PM said
Russia, the world’s largest wheat exporter, has harvested more than 145 million metric tons of grain in bunker quantities this year, the Interfax news agency quoted deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev as saying.
Grain volumes in net weight could be much lower due to bad weather, Patrushev said. Russia’s official net weight estimate for the wheat harvest in 2025 is 135 million tons.
“The harvest of the new crop is almost complete. Importantly, throughout the season, despite weather disturbances, the main crop yield has exceeded last year’s level,” Patrushev said at a government meeting citing Interfax.
Patrushev said sowing of winter grain crops for the 2026 harvest was carried out according to plan on 20 million hectares.
The Ministry of Agriculture will approve the final structure for planting areas for next year in December.
Although drought hit some of Russia’s main grain-growing regions in the south this year, crop losses were offset by better-than-expected harvests in central regions and Siberia.
