National Economic Council (NEC) Director Kevin Hassett on Sunday praised the market’s response to a Bloomberg report last week suggesting that Hassett is widely considered the front-runner among the candidates to replace Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. The president’s chief economic adviser, in an interview with CBS News’ “Face the Nation,” called the Bloomberg report a “rumor.”
