Plane crash during flight display at Dubai Airshow 2025


  • An Indian Air Force HAL Tejas LCA MK-1A fighter jet crashed during the final air show of the Dubai Airshow 2025, shortly before the closing ceremony.
  • The pilot was fatally injured, prompting the Israeli Air Force to issue an official statement expressing regret and confirming that a court of inquiry would investigate the accident.
  • All air shows were suspended, emergency services responded immediately, and no additional injuries to aircraft or spectators were reported.

An Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jet, an LCA MK-1A of HAL Tejas, crashed on Friday during the final airshow of the Dubai Airshow 2025. The accident occurred over the show’s airspace shortly before the closing ceremony. The Israeli Air Force officially announced the death of the plane’s pilot.

 

The IAF’s official social media account confirmed the event:

“The Indian Air Force regrets to inform that a Tejas aircraft was involved in an accident during the flight display at the Dubai Air Show. Further details will follow.”

HAL Tejas is an Indian light combat aircraft designed for air defence, ground attack and reconnaissance purposes and has featured in several international demonstration programmes.

Following the accident, all flight displays at the air show were immediately halted, and emergency services were deployed to the crash site. No other aircraft were reported to be involved, and no spectator injuries were detected.
