LATAM Cargo Group has completed the largest freight expansion between Europe and South America

  • LATAM Cargo Group has expanded to 15 weekly cargo flights between Europe and South America, boosting its capacity by 25 percent and cementing its position as the most connected cargo operator in the region.
  • The new São Paulo-Recife-Brussels route adds direct transportation of goods from Brazil to Europe, supporting exporters in the Northeast and accelerating the delivery of products such as mangoes to European markets.
  • Additional frequencies from Brussels to Brazil and Argentina provide faster transit times and greater stability for sectors such as pharmaceuticals, automotive and general cargo.

LATAM Cargo Group has achieved a new milestone in connectivity between Europe and South America by expanding its cargo operations, reaching 15 weekly flights between the two continents during the month of October. This represents a 25 percent increase in total capacity, reaffirming its position as the operator with the largest freight network between Europe and South America.

After increasing from 10 to 12 frequencies in October 2024, LATAM Cargo Group continues this growth trend, enhancing a service that is becoming increasingly robust and efficient for its customers. As a result of this expansion, the company will provide 750 tons of weekly capacity on board its B767-300F freighters, enhancing connectivity between the two regions.

“Thanks to the flexibility of our fleet and the coordinated work with our subsidiaries, we are strengthening our network between Europe and South America, as we have reached a historic stage in connecting goods between the two continents.”

“Our focus is to provide customers with more flexible, reliable and efficient logistics solutions, facilitating international trade in a continuous and sustainable way,” said Santiago Alvarez, Chief Commercial Officer of LATAM Cargo Group.

A new process for Europe

From South America to Europe, LATAM Cargo Group will open a new operation from São Paulo to Brussels, with a stop in Recife, marking another important step in its cargo connectivity. For the first time, the group will provide direct shipping capacity from Brazil to Europe, strengthening the country’s export network and bringing the service closer to the main production centers in northeastern Brazil.

The operation will begin in the last week of October with three flights per week, and expand to five flights per week by mid-December. The stop in Recife will enable the export of mangoes produced in northeastern Brazil, significantly reducing transit time to major European markets. In addition, the first terminal from São Paulo will provide the capacity to accommodate oversized cargo, dangerous goods and oversized shipments that require specialized cargo transportation.

Expanding contact with South America

In the opposite direction, during October, LATAM Cargo Group launched new routes and increased its flights from Europe to South America, in line with its expansion plan announced earlier this year.

The new direct route between Brussels and São José dos Campos (Brazil) began operations on 2 October with one weekly flight, and is expected to increase to two weekly flights during the winter. This direct connection will help reduce transit times and logistics costs for European customers, providing a more efficient alternative for transporting industrial products, auto parts, consumer goods and general cargo.

Meanwhile, the Brussels-Buenos Aires route has doubled its operations, increasing from two to four weekly flights from October. This growth responds to ongoing demand from key sectors such as pharmaceuticals, automotive and consolidated general cargo, allowing 80 to 100 tons to be moved per week and providing greater flexibility and stability to supply chains.
