Two United Airlines planes collide on O’Hare runway
CHICAGO (WGN) – Two United Airlines passenger planes collided on the runway at Chicago O’Hare International Airport Friday afternoon.
According to United Airlines, aircraft UA2652 was heading towards the arrival gate when it made contact with the horizontal stabilizer of another United Airlines aircraft. The other plane was parked and there were no passengers on board.
The aircraft, UA2652, was carrying 113 customers and five crew members at the time of the accident.
One passenger told Nexstar’s WGN that they were told they would have to get off the plane so it could be checked. The airline said that all passengers were able to get off the plane safely and no injuries were reported.
UA2652 is a Boeing 737, while the other aircraft was a Boeing 767, the airline identified.
