Astral Aviation has appointed Darryl Good as CEO and Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer
- Astral Aviation has announced the appointment of Darryl Goode to its Board of Directors as CEO and Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer (CSTO).
- Based in Dubai, Jude will work across Astral’s businesses in Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Australia, bringing an insightful external perspective to the board and leading the company’s transformation to a more robust scheduled network model underpinned by a customer-first mindset, operational discipline, safety and performance.
From its bases in Africa and the Middle East, Astral is expanding its footprint east and south into Asia and Oceania, supported by a growing portfolio of scheduled routes aligned with customers’ long-haul aviation programme. Major centers include Dubai, Nairobi, Johannesburg and Hong Kong. Astral’s network momentum is fueled by more than 60 joint agreements and strategic collaborations with leading global carriers that expand distribution and upgrading options across hubs such as Nairobi, Hong Kong, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
These arrangements provide comprehensive solutions for Astral’s customers while expanding the range of its scheduled flights and customized flight programmes.

As a CSTO, Jude will:
• Leading an enterprise-wide transformation from primarily unscheduled operations to a disciplined scheduled network tightly integrated with customer-specific aviation programs.
• Fleet formation and network development in sync with customer programs. Near term: Additional B767-300F capacity, with B777 freighters being evaluated.
• Coordinating strategy, portfolio development, capital partnerships, upgrading governance, performance management and investor engagement to ensure the next phase of growth.
• Increase personnel and system capability, hard wiring integrity, reliability, on-time performance and operational accuracy across stations and functions.
Judd brings more than three decades of leadership in aviation and air cargo. He held senior executive roles at Ansett Australia and was part of the emerging Ansett New Zealand team, where he shaped a customer-focused approach to airline and shipping products and network development.
His experience includes managing aircraft leasing programs at AWAS (Ansett Worldwide Aviation Services) and Alfa Aerospace (AMS) and having executive responsibility for the air cargo and intra-regional logistics growth portfolios at AP Moller-Maersk across IMEA.
Judd is Managing Partner of Logistics Executive Group, a consulting organization that supports airlines and logistics businesses across multiple markets. He has previously supported Astral’s Board of Directors on strategic investment matters and now joins to help guide its next chapter.
