A quarter of the CDC is gone

After the last Apart from the widespread firing at US Disease Control and Prevention Centers over the weekend, the union that represents agency employees estimates that about 3,000 people – about a quarter of the agency’s workforce – have left the agency this year.

These include workers who were fired earlier this year, as well as those who have accepted the Trump Government’s “Fork Purchase Program”.

Among the government’s shutdown, the latest declines declined. On October 10, more than 1,300 CDC employees received an termination announcement. However, soon afterwards, about 700 of these people were told by email that they were mistakenly terminated and were not actually subject to power reduction. It is estimated that 600 people are terminated.

According to the union, 1,300 extra CDC employees are on administrative leave and fees but do not work.

The Trump administration has not shared the official number of those who have targeted this reduction. The estimate was compiled by the US Civil Employees Federation (AFGE) 2883, which represents CDC workers.

The current round of declations affects the National Center for Prevention of Chronic Diseases and Health Promotion, the National Center for Health Statistics, the CDC Library, the Agency’s Human Resources Department, the Campus Safety Employees, as well as the CDC office in Washington, DC, which serves as a congress mediator, and provides public health information to policymakers.

“All HHS employees who receive reduced declarations are unnecessary by the relevant departments,” said Andrew Nixon, director of communications at the Ministry of Health and Human Services.

According to AFGE, these include employees who publish the agency’s flagship, weekly reports of complications and mortality, as well as leadership at the National Center of Immunning and Respiratory Diseases and the National Center for emerging and zevy infectious diseases. Members of the epidemic information service, the CDC “Detective Detectives” unit, were also returned.
