Azerbaijan oil exports in January-March via BTC pipes down 5.5%

Oil exports through the standard pipes (BTC), which stretches from Azerbaijan through Georgia to Turkey, fell 5.5% year-to-year in January-March 2025 in 6.9 million metric tons, said the Statistics Committee of the Azerbaijan State Statistics.

BTC pipes are used to export oil from Azeri, Chirag and Guneshli oil fields, which are operated by BP.

The total Azerbaijan oil transit in January-March 2025 amounted to 9.0 million tons, of which 76.2% flowed through BTC.

The volume of transit oil sourced from other countries such as Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan through BTC fell to 1.153 million tons in January-March from 1,400 million tons in the same period in 2024, data showed.
