FEDEX cancels regional growth insurance with a new facility on the latest model in Bilbao
- Feder Express Corporation, the world’s largest explicit transport company, has opened a sophisticated facility in Bilbao, Spain. This new location greatly increases the operational fingerprint of FEDEX in the region, which enhances both capacity and productivity.
- This investment confirms FEDEX’s commitment to southern Europe and represents a strategic step to meet the increasing demand for logistical and e -commerce services, while supporting the best customer needs.
The Bilbao facility includes 2700 square meters of warehouse area, or nearly 2000 square meters than the previous site, along with an additional 400 square meters of modern office spaces spread over two floors. Thanks to its advanced infrastructure, these modern attachments are doubled from the previous sorting capacity, allowing to deal with up to 1500 buckets per hour. The station has 27 loaders, 20 more than before, and it is well equipped to simplify charging processing.
“This new complex represents a major investment in our operational capabilities and allows us to enhance our services offers for customers and support their international aspirations and their operational needs,” said Ian Silverton, Managing Director of Earth Operations, Fedex Spain and Portugal.
“With Bilbao Station, we greatly increase our operating footprint and improve efficiency, as we also enable us to deal with larger sizes.”
The presence of Fedex is defined in the Basque country through strong infrastructure and exceptional logistical capabilities. This new facility in Bilbao completes the current stations in Vitoria and San Sebastian, as well as the air portal in Vitoria, which guarantees communication the next day with Europe and America. Collectively, these facilities are proud of a combined sorting capacity of 6000 buckets per hour. With the opening of the Bilbao station, the FEDEX is in a good position to enhance service capabilities and process the increasing demands in the region.
Fedex has a large -scale presence in Spain, with five air portals located in Madrid, Barcelona, Kafa, Valencia and Vitia, two major road centers in Madrid and Barcelona, and 26 operating stations throughout the country.
