Voters, donors disappointed with DM message, unite against Trump

Democrats are frustrated.

The party’s donor category is publicly wondering whether the driving has a pulse. After losing to the White House and the Senate, and they failed to strengthen the House of Representatives, they say the party lacks the direction and the message that holds on. One of the donors placed frankly in a conversation with the hill, saying: “We were unable to find our feet and no one is excited for anything. But I believe that many people realize that if we do nothing, we give up controlling Trump, and he reached enough.”

This is the thesis that Democrats cannot ignore: the love of the party is not what keeps the lights – it is a fear of Donald Trump, now in its second term.

This fear is tangible. Donors refer to a “escalating freedom of expression” threat as a reason they started writing checks again. For some, the decision to withdraw Jimmy Kimmil from the air after his comments about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. For others, it was the Trump immigration campaign, or even his strange statement that connects Taylinol to autism. As one of the donors said, “It gets worse every day.”

But do not make sure of fear of loyalty. There was no other donor of donors in California, as the Democratic Party described “incomplete, arrogant, isolated and deaf color.”

The numbers of this fatigue. The Republican National Committee sits on $ 84 million. Democrats? Only $ 15 million. Although some individuals like John Morgan, a prominent attorney of injuries, tell the hill that they are still cutting checks, it also draws sharp limits, saying: “I will only give to a democracy if they are not recognized as a democratic socialism.”

He added, “The idea of delivering a pile of money to people who spend like sailors is drunk … a bad idea.”

Here is the paradox: While the party brand was beaten – only 30 percent of Americans who view Democrats appear positively, the lowest classification since 2008 – Democratic voters themselves are expelled. A CNN/SSSRS poll showed that 72 percent of Democrats and Democratic voters are “very driven” to vote before mid -time, compared to 50 percent of Republicans and voters who tend to Republicans.

Why? Because Trump is a great tie. Regardless of the broken Democrats ’feeling or disappointed about their party, Trump is so polarized that he unites them. Democrats do not need to be in love with their party to appear-so they only need to be clear about those sitting in the oval office.

So, this path forward: Democrats can fight on ideology in 2028, when the Trump era finally ends and the real discussion of the party’s spirit can take the center of the lead. But in 2026, the task is simpler. Unit is not optional. We call it a temporary truce – the progressive and the suppliers do not have to agree on everything, but they have to agree on one thing: stopping Trump’s grip on Congress.

If Democrats want to win, they will need less nautical control, more coalition building, and a message that goes beyond “we are not Trump.” Because fear may open wallets, but hope is what actually makes people to polls.
