Almost 200 thousand BMW was required due to the potential fire risks
BMW released a summons for about 200,000 vehicles, indicating the risk of a fire due to engine erosion.
The National Road Traffic Safety Administration said on Friday notification that BMW from North America issued “Park Outside Recall”.
“The owners must stand outside and away from the buildings and other vehicles in order to confirm either their car is not subject to summons or treat their car,” as stated in the notice.
The risk stems from the start of the car engine, which may erode, causing high temperature, short circle, and perhaps starting the fire.
BMW performs a “recall” due to “the availability of parts”. The company will notify the owners by mail on November 14, and another notice is scheduled to be sent as soon as spare parts are available.
Car owners are invited to call BMW customer service at 800-525-7417 with questions.
The summons also affects 1469 Toyota SuPra compounds, which are manufactured by BMW, from the typical years 2020 to 2022.
