Strategic growth meets sustainability – air cargo week
Carousel Logistics not only expands its scope-but rather it is doing it through the deliberate sustainability concentration.
The recent opening of the new AirSide charging facility at Birmingham Airport is a pivotal moment of the recharge redirect company, which smoothly mixes strategic ambition with environmental responsibility.
“Our ambitious strategic plan for a period of five years, which was identified in 2022, expects to double the logistical size, and we are on the right way to excel this,” said Andrew Lori, the administrative director of Carousel Logistics. “But we are also looking to grow sustainable as part of our 2035 mission to reduce carbon emissions by 40 percent.”
This aspiration agenda formed each element of the new Birmingham operation-from its location and planning to the technology and equipment that was published on the site. Carousel has invested heavily in low and zero emissions processing systems, which reflects its design on the growth separation of carbon output.
He added: “This has prompted our decisions to invest in low and zero emissions at Birmingham Airport and its partner with Varamis Rail.”
It is important, that the facility is not just an independent achievement – it is a strategic gear in a larger network, which enhances Carousel’s ability to fulfill the final dates of communications between customers without prejudice to sustainability. Birmingham site works as a decisive exchange between land transport links for time and time, allowing Carousel to connect faster with less emission.
“I am proud of my team, which has proven to reduce our environmental imprint does not have to come at the expense of excellence in the service,” Lori stated.
Cleaning, faster model
The Carousel Sustainability Strategy feature is its partnership with Varamis Rail, a step that emphasizes the company’s dedication to reshape the logistical scene. This transformation has caused electric railways to open great gains not only in carbon reduction, but also in efficiency and expansion – decisive factors in a dynamic air sector.
“Carousel’s move towards shipping railways has required more effort, investment and time to start traditional roads, but the positive effect in terms of reducing carbon emissions and delivery times for our customers is large,” Lori’s status.
The Birmingham Railways path to Glasgow, which is supported by electricity, is already over performance in traditional heavy heavy goods (HGVS) on the main standards. It not only provides the speed feature – up to three hours of the typical road flight – but also a great benefit from carbon savings.
“With every cart equivalent to HGV trailers one and a half, we can move more goods more quickly,” Lori explained. “Every train car is used on this road that removes 375 tons of carbon dioxide every year compared to the road charging replacement.”
Carousel benefits from this feature over its increasing volume of its operations.
“In 80 of 239 daily services in 2024, two vehicles were used by Carousel, which means that 500 tons of carbon dioxide had been rescued,” Lori revealed.
This success pushes the company to the biggest thinking. With the demand for fast and reliable logistical services in sectors such as life sciences, agriculture and the distribution of critical parts, Carousel plans to expand its cooperation with Varamis Rail.
“We intend to expand the partnership with VARAMIS RAIL and hope to work with them to add more ways to their network.”
The accuracy overnight
In the economy 24/7, the ability to deliver during the hours of non -peak has become a decisive discrimination. Carousel Logistics photographed a position in logistics at night, providing accurate delivery services not only enhances productivity, but also in line with the goals of reducing the environment and crowding.
“The demand for increasing services at night continued from an increasing number of sectors, as he realizes more productivity and less environmental effects,” the most prominent Lori.
This high demand is not without challenges. Unlike traditional delivery processes, logistics deals at night with critical spare parts and high -value charges, where last delivery can have striking effects.
He warned, “The cost of failure to surrender at night for critical parts is much higher than other logistics.”
To meet this tape, Carousel is investing in the new path techniques and tracking, which enhances seeing the actual time through its network and ensuring that delivery times without prejudice to accuracy.
“We are committed to improving OTIF constantly [on-time, in-full] Performance through our growing customer base and invests in the new path technology and follows the accurate report on progress made and increased delivery times.
