Tiaaca expands the team, adding border management experience


The International Air Shipping Association (Tiaca) announced that the association has expanded its team to increase border management experience and provide a dedicated representative in the important Middle East region.

Since the air cargo industry becomes more complicated every day, with trade restrictions, definitions, and the requirements of prior air freight information (PLACI), security compliance and other challenges, Tiaca contracted Gordon Wright, an expert in industry within the limits of air charging and safety.

Gordon has led capacity -building projects on behalf of prominent organizations such as the UK Ministry of International Development, the World Customs Organization, the Asian Development Bank, and the European Commission.

Gordon’s impressive profession also includes high positions in the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the European Commission, the International Road Transport Union (IRU), the UK border, HM revenues, DHL and CT.

“We are very happy that Gordon will attend his wealth from knowledge of the air compliance of the Tiaca border. Our members are looking for us to obtain guidance to help them during these times with great complexity and quickly changing organizational environments,” said Stephen Pullman, Tiaka’s chair.

In addition, Tiaca, with its expanding global membership, has expanded its regional presence by appointing Mazen Al-Homsi as regional director in the Middle East, to lead association activities in this important air freight area and the location of the Air Cargo Forum on November 3-6, 2025.

Mazen had a long and distinguished profession in air charging with over 30 years of global experience in aviation, airlines and logistical services. Experience extends to sales, commercial operations, product development, strategic planning, and Aero political relations.

His career included positions with World Top Cargo Alliance, IATA, UAE, Etihad and Gulf Air.

“We are very happy that Mazen has joined Tiaca team to bring its great knowledge and network in the Middle East to help Tiaca to serve our members in this society more effectively. Mazen will enhance our relations with governments, organizational authorities, and the entire supply chain throughout the region.
