The baltic index extends profits at a higher level in all ship segments
The Utik Baltic Exchange Sea Transportation Index, which measures tariffs for ships carrying dry bulk commodities, rises for the third session on Thursday, with higher rates at all ship segments.
* BBDI’s main index, which tracks the tariff for Caphessizes, Panamax and Supramax Shipping Vessels, added 14 points, or 0.7%, to 2,039 points, the highest since August 8.
* CAPESIZE Index (.BACI) rose 24 points, or 0.7%, at 3,304.
* The average daily income for Castesize Vessels (.batca), which usually transports 150,000 tons of cargo such as iron ore and coal, rose $ 198 to $ 27,404.
* Iron ore futures after the Chinese government ordered the suspension of construction activities ahead of the military parade in Beijing.
* The Panamax Index (.BPNI) took the defeat of five sessions, getting 9 points, or 0.6%, to 1,603.
* The average daily income for Panamax ships (.BPWT), which usually carries 60,000-70,000 tons of coal or seeds, up $ 83 to $ 14,425.
* Among the smaller ships, the Supramax Index (.Bsis) gained 9 points, or 0.7%, to 1,345, the highest more than three weeks. The index registered the tenth profit session in succession.
