Cold cold chain launches carbon calculator
Tower Cold Chain has provided its carbon calculator to help customers improve the sustainability of their logistics operations.
The new carbon calculator has been developed with the College of Business Administration at Cardiff University as part of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) and accessible by contacting the local tower sales representative, with information about how it works available at the new sustainability center for the tower on its website.
By providing valuable data on carbon fingerprint for each shipment, the tool can provide clear and implementable visions that enable customers to make informed decisions on their environmental impact. It also helps in identifying the areas of improvement within TOWER operations, but also through the broader supply chain.
Through this transparent opinion, customers can understand the environmental impact of their logistical options better and explore opportunities to reduce emissions. The calculator works to take advantage of comprehensive data groups from the Ministry of Energy Security and Net Zero and follow the applicable industry frameworks, ensuring that the data is accurate and compatible with the recognized standards.
The main feature of the tool is to compare TOWer solutions against alternative market options. This analysis of carbon emissions takes into account factors such as the type of container and the quantity, temperatures, transportation mode, severed distance, and total load weight. This comprehensive approach provides an accurate estimate of emissions based on the solution of the specific logistics used.
When TOWER representatives calculate carbon fingerprint for charging, customers receive a detailed and easy -to -use report. This report facilitates direct comparisons between the tower containers and other available options, which clearly shows the potential carbon dioxide savings that have been achieved through improved solutions.
“The launch of carbon calculator represents an important step in helping our customers achieve their sustainability goals. This tool is designed not only to support our customers but also to push for the best sustainability practices through the entire industry,” said Niall Balfour, CEO of Tower Cold Chain.
