Warren asks FTC and the Ministry of Justice to think about preventing the merging of a rooster
Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MASS) raised concerns about the proposed integration between sports goods in Dick W.
“Dick and Lujir Luqer are currently competing with each other and with independent retailers to secure deals with suppliers. The new giant has increased significantly from power to extract favorable conditions with manufacturers.”
“This may mean that independent retailers are in a non -favorable position when it comes to negotiating with suppliers, which may give Dick’s Locker an incentive to engage in anti -competition behavior to restrict suppliers from dealing with independent retailers,” she added.
Senator Massachusetts said that small companies may be threatened by the deal, at a value of $ 2.4 billion.
From 2017 to 2022, one in four shoe stores were closed throughout the United States, which led to the loss of more than 25,000 jobs in the same period, and Warren’s office, citing statistics for the statistics office on the economy.
Warren also referred to a credit study of the karma that was issued last month, in which 39 percent of parents said they could not bear the continuous shopping in the school this year.
“The proposed acquisition of Dick’s Sporting Goods of Foot Locker would combine the largest parties to the country’s sports shoes, creating a giant that would increase strength throughout work, from suppliers to workers to customers,” Warren said.
“This deal can raise the prices of families that already face the costs of sport shoes higher than President Trump’s tariff and threatening workers and small companies,” she added.
Warren said that the ban on the former criminals had proven to be useful for consumers, citing the failed integration between the grocery groceries Kroger and albertsons.
“In the wake of the loss of Kroger and Albertsons in the court, the new CEO of Albertsons revealed the benefits of maintaining competition by describing how the company has now planned to improve it to maintain low prices” to attract more shoppers “in order to compete with competing companies.”
She added: “This is a wonderful example of the benefits of competition for consumers, and anti -monopoly agencies must be given confidence to continue to implement the anti -monopoly law strongly.”
The Ministry of Justice and FTC did not immediately respond to requests to comment on Warren’s speech. The hill has also reached a rooster and a Lujir.
