BIFA comments on the expansion proposals in Heathrow

“Over the past decades, the successive UK governments have shown a unique shortage of vision in the face of a huge increase in air transport and the consequent pressure on the current airport infrastructure in the southeast,” said Steve Parker, General Manager of BIFA.

In response to the proposals that were now submitted to the government, Parker added;

“For the government, not bifa, comment on the feasibility of the proposals presented.

“BIFA members, who facilitate a large percentage of international visual trade in the United Kingdom through gates such as Heathrow, only want the government’s vision to adhere to its goal to enable the delivery of the third operating runway by 2035.

“This will require quick decisions regarding the proposals that were submitted, in order to submit requests to plan approval to apply in a timely manner to enable decisions to make this parliament.

“Amal BIFA is that if this is achieved, we may finally see the beginning of the long -awaited expansion of the UK’s aviation center.

“It is now the time for everyone, including politicians from all sides, to assemble the national interest and support bold plans to expand and improve the airports infrastructure in Heathrow in order to maintain the position of the United Kingdom as the most important aviation center in Europe.”

While BIFA was waiting for news about a third runway, he focused on developing airport shipping. On behalf of the members, the Trade Association is already working closely with the airport to support its ambitious plans to provide a basic change in the way the goods operate at the gate.

The latest plans and program improvements were revealed last October. These plans may mean a significant redevelopment of the shipping property that will start during the next two or three years, as the airport is looking to absorb the increasing demand, modernize some goods processing facilities in the first line, and improve goods and efficiency flows.
