Palaantir helps DOGE with a wide -ranging IRS data project

Palaantir, the software company built by Peter Till, is part of the so -called DOGE efforts to build a new “Mega API” to access internal income services.

Over the past three days, DOGE and a handful of Palantir representatives, along with dozens of IRS job engineers, were working to build a single layer of APIs above all IRS databases at an event previously known as “Hacaton”. Palaantir representatives were present at the event this week, with a direct knowledge of Wired.

APIs are application interfaces that allow different programs to exchange data and can be used to transfer IRS data to the cloud and access it there. DOGE expresses interest in the API project probably touching all IRS data, which includes taxpayers’ names, addresses, social security numbers, tax return and employment data. The API IRS layer can also allow someone to compare the IRS data against the interactive data set from other agencies.

If the project is completed, DOGE wants the Palantir casting software to become a “read center of all IRS systems”, a source of direct knowledge to Wired, meaning that anyone who has access can view and may probably change all IRS data in one place. It is unclear who has access to this system.

Foundry is a Palaantir platform that can handle AI models on basic organizing, programs, or executing AI models. After organizing and structured data, the “ontology” layer of casting can create APIs for faster connections and machine learning models. This allows users to quickly use the software through artificial information to arrange through the agency data, which requires AI system to access this sensitive information.

Engineers are tasked with completing the API project that they can complete it in 30 days, a source with direct knowledge to Wired.

Palantier has made billions of dollars in government contracts. The company develops and maintains a variety of software tools for organizational and government jobs, including casting and Gotham, a data analysis tool, which is primarily used in defense and information. Palantir CEO Alex Carpe recently cited the “disorder” of DOGE costing initiatives, saying, “Whatever is good for America, it will be good for Americans and very good for Palaantir.” Former Palaantir workers have also played key roles in IT and DOGE in recent months.

Wired was the first to report that the DOGE IRS team was running a “Hackathon” in Washington, DC this week to start the API project in Washington. The event began on Tuesday morning and ended on Thursday afternoon. A source in the room this week explained that the event was “very structured”. On Tuesday, engineers wandered around the room and discussed how the DOGE goal is fulfilled.

The Treasury Department did not respond to the request of Palantier’s role in the project.

“The Treasury Department is pleased to collect a team of long -term IRS engineers known as the most talented technical staff,” said a Treasury spokesman. Through this coalition, they make the IRS systems easier to create the most efficient service for US taxpayers. ” “This week, the team participated in the IRS mapping mapping, a seminar on various strategy sessions because they work seriously to create efficient systems. This new leadership and direction maximize their capabilities and serve as a technology that IRS needs for decades.”
