Qi2 wireless charging: whatever you need to know (2025)
Other Qi2 advances more than Qi include a wider device compatibility (from pills to wearables), adaptive charging so that chargers can speak with devices to provide the power needed instead of having a fixed power and safety enhancement with better heat management and external object detection.
What is Qi2 25W?
The first main update for Qi2 Qi2.2.1 is the WPC as the Qi2 25W. While it does not work to clarify the wireless charging scene, it has been set that can host progress:
- Faster charging speed up to 50 wattsHowever, it seems to be 25 watts now.
- Improved magnetic alignmentSo phones can be charged with maximum efficiency and speed, and different devices will be compatible with all the Qi2 25W accessories.
- Adaptation backThis means that the Qi2 25W devices are still working with Qi2 and Qi chargers, albeit slower.
WPC says 14 products have been approved so far, including 3 -in -1 chargers, electrical banks and car rides, from Anker, Aukey, Baseus, Belkin, Ugreen and SCSCHE, with hundreds of others in the certification queue. Interestingly, WPC says, “In addition to Apple’s iPhone, major Android smartphones first join the Qi2 ecosystem for the first time.” But we still don’t know the iPhone or Android phones are referring to it.

Unfortunately, there are still many Qi2 licensed phones. Here is the full list:

Qi2 ready phones are capable of charging at Qi2 speed but lacking magnetic arrays, so they must be paired with Qi2 ready -to -milet -to -milet -to -milestone. Here is the list:
Waiting for a wave of delayed Qi2 devices
Before a device can handle the Qi2 or Qi2 25W logo, the Consortium must confirm it in its independent laboratories. MPP Qi2 specifications include charging rates, magnet strength and device compatibility. The Qi2 logo promises to meet the exact WPC standards. But, like the original Qi standard, devices are also available that have not passed through the official Qi2 certification process.
The iPhone 12 to 16 Apple supports Qi2, and has released accessories such as Anker, Belkin, Nomads, Mofi, Base and many other Qi2 wireless chargers and electrical banks. You can expect a wave of Qi2 25W accessories and phones to end in the next step, and we expect some Android manufacturers to jump on the board completely late or early 2026. Phones typically have two years of lead, so it may delay Qi2 admission. The WPC hopes that Qi2 will unite wireless charging and ultimately deliver the world standard we have been waiting, but we are no longer feeling well.
